Clayton Otteau Scores Senior Animal Victory, Captures Multiple Heat Race Wins at Keystone

SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Young rising motorsports talent Clayton Otteau showcased both speed and resilience this past weekend at the Keystone Quarter Midget Club in Pennsylvania, overcoming changing weather conditions, mechanical challenges, and heartbreak in one division to cap off the weekend with a dominant Senior Animal victory.

Competing in four highly competitive divisions, Otteau displayed race-winning pace throughout the event, recording some of the fastest laps of the weekend while qualifying for multiple A-Main events.

In Senior Honda competition, Otteau advanced from fifth to second during the A-Main before contact during a battle for the lead sent him to the rear of the field late in the 30-lap feature. Despite the setback, the young driver charged back through the field to finish fifth while recording the fastest lap of the race.

The weekend’s toughest moment came in the World Formula A-Main. After charging from sixth to first in his heat race and earning the pole position, Otteau dominated the feature by leading every lap and setting the pace for the field. However, while navigating lap traffic late in the race, tire wear allowed the second-place car to close the gap. On lap 29, contact while battling for the lead sent both cars spinning, with Otteau’s machine briefly lifting into the air during the incident. Damage from the contact forced him out of contention and resulted in a 12th-place finish despite having one of the fastest cars on the track all weekend.

Otteau quickly regrouped following the disappointment and responded with an impressive performance in Senior Animal competition. After charging from seventh to first in his heat race, he backed it up with a commanding A-Main victory. Starting from the pole, Otteau executed flawless starts and restarts while leading every lap en route to the win.

The Pennsylvania driver also showed determination in Light 160 competition. After weather delays forced race officials to restructure the qualifying format, Otteau advanced from seventh to third in the B-Main to secure his spot in the feature event. Despite ongoing handling issues with the car, he fought forward in the A-Main to finish seventh while still posting the second-fastest lap times in the race.

“Despite the crazy weather and challenges throughout the weekend, Clayton showed a lot of maturity and resilience,” the team stated. “To bounce back from the heartbreak in World Formula and immediately dominate the Senior Animal feature says a lot about his mindset and determination.”

Up next, Otteau and his team will return to action on May 17th at Keystone Quarter Midget Club as they continue building momentum during the 2026 racing season.
